Bike Riding and Swim Lessons

I've been giving swim lessons for the Longfellow elementary school this past week. What a blast. We have great kids in Salida.

I've been out on my bike, just like to remind everyone the law says you have to give a bike rider 3 feet, but you can give us more room.

Rainbow Trail Still Has Snow

Just letting everyone know that the Rainbow Trail around Salida still is snow packed. Not bad on snow shoes but not good for hiking

Spring Break

Spring Break is here in Salida. It's great to see all the people from Texas and OK here enjoying themselves. There was a great crowd at the pool yesterday. Seems like they were having fun. Quarter Grades came out yesterday. Great news for our family. Now it seems like our kids can concentrate on their sports and not have to worry about academics. You can see what my view of academics are.

Some other great news, tonight the City counsul will pick a contractor to fix up the locker rooms at the pool.

Great Day at Monarch

What a great day at Monarch Saturday. I rode the Salida Rec ski bus and had a blast boarding. We need snow, but Monarch is still a great area. I had mixed emotions about Saturday. I'm not a fan of waiting in line, but there was really nobody on the mountain.

Trout Fishing

The trout were biting downtown Salida. I was throwing small spinners. I got six in about an hour. The good thing about fishing in downtown Salida, you can get a cup of coffe at Bongo Billy's Cafe.

Just Getting Started

Just getting started with this blog. I want to focus on things to do in and around Salida, Co. Right now I'm up at Monarh all that I can. It is spring conditions but very little lines. The hot springs pool is a great place to go afterwards to relax. You can also get a bus up to the mountain this Saturday. Call the pool for details.
